Traditionally Presidents' Day is a vacation day for students.

This year hroughout the Bluegrass, many students went to school on the holiday to make-up for snow days.

The extreme weather this winter closed schools more often than officials planned for, causing districts to find way to make-up missed days.

Kentucky State Education guidelines for public schools requires students to be in school for a certain number of hours per school year, causing districts to find ways to make-up the missed days.

Some districts, like Anderson County, canceled Spring Break to make-up the lost time.

Fayette County School officials said there weren't any plans to cancel spring break, but students did go on Presidents' Day and will also go March 21, which were originally scheduled as days off.
