Pregnant Inmate Escapes For Second Time In A Week

Lexington Police are looking for jail escapee Ashley Marler for the second time in a week. Investigators said the pregnant inmate escaped while out of jail for a doctor's appointment last Monday and again today.
A pregnant Fayette County Detention Center inmate has escaped during a doctor's appointment for the second time in a week.

Lexington Police said on September 16th, Marler failed to return to jail following a court-ordered medical pass.  She was recaptured two days later in Lexington.

One week later, September 23rd, Marler escaped through the ceiling of the Polk- Dalton Clinic on Elm Tree Lane wearing only a t-shirt and towel, according to the Fayette County Detention Center.

The jail said Marler was initially jailed on a felony and misdemeanor charge of Receiving Stolen Property.  A second Escape charge will be added to her criminal record.
