Kentucky Utilities said more than 1,800 customers were without power late Tuesday afternoon in the Fayette Mall area in Lexington.
Some businesses in the area along with homes were without electricity.
K-U officials said the cause is unknown and that crews were working quickly to restore power.
Some traffic signals were out along the Nicholasville Road corridor from Man O' War Boulevard down to Rojay Drive and Nichols Park, according to the City's Traffic Management Website.
