The case of a former UK basketball player facing sexual abuse charges has been waived to a grand jury.

Michael Porter is charged with sodomy and sexual abuse of a minor.

The Fayette County District Court says the case was waived to the grand jury Monday morning.

Porter has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Police say the victim told them she and Porter met at church functions in 2009 and 2010, when Porter was a church leader. Police say the victim was 14 and 15 years old at the time.

Porter was arrested in May following an investigation.
