Lexington Police say a woman left a little girl and a dog in a hot car while she went shopping.

Officers were called to the Old Navy parking lot in Hamburg around 2:00pm Sunday.

Police say a 4-year-old girl and a dog were in a parked car with the windows rolled down a few inches.

The outdoor temperature at the time was 86-degrees.

Police arrested 38-year old Jill Nowlin for wanton endangerment.

Investigators say the child is okay and is in the care of relatives.
