Police: Woman Admits She Kept Donations Solicited For Family Of Missing Teen

Berea Police said Amanda Griffey, 21, of Berea, admitted she told people she was with a local church collecting money for the family of missing teen Brookelyn Farthing, but was actually keeping the donations for herself.
Berea Police said Amanda Griffey, 21, of Berea, admitted to investigators that she was telling people she was with a local church, collecting financial donations for the family of missing teenager Brookelyn Farthing, but was keeping the money for herself.

Investigators said Griffey had collected a total of $40 from three unsuspecting victims. 

Police said she even gave one victim a receipt for a $20 donation, which she signed with a fake name.

Police said Griffey was charged with Theft of Identity of Another and Theft by Deception.
