The Scott County Sheriff's Department says the robbery that happened at a gas station Monday night was likely planned.

Deputies say the Pilot Travel Center on Triport Road in Georgetown was robbed around 11:45 p.m.

Police say a black male around 6'1" and 200lbs wearing a blue fleece hoodie went into the gas station and forcibly tied up the manager of the store with duct tape.

Authorities say the suspect then kicked the male victim while he was lying on the ground.

Scott County Sheriff Tony Hampton says the suspect then went into the back room for 10 minutes, where he stole an undisclosed amount of cash and took the data CD out of the security camera.

Because of this, the sheriff says he thinks it was a well-planned robbery.

However, he adds that deputies were able to recover security footage from the site, and will likely release it later Tuesday.

Police ask anyone that recognizes the description of the suspect to call the Scott County Sheriff's Department at 502-863-7855.
