Police: Truck Hits & Kills Man in Wheelchair

A truck hit and killed a man in a wheelchair, according to state police.

Police say 52-year-old Jerry Giles was driving under the influence in a mechanized wheelchair when a pickup truck hit him, on Kentucky Highway 76. It happened 13 miles north of Columbia.

Giles was pronounced dead at the scene by the county coroner.
