Police in Morehead say a man was suppose to be watching a toddler on Monday afternoon but instead he was sleeping.

Officers say a driver noticed the three year old walking on the road and called police.

Investigators say they found 27-year-old Jeffrey McGuire was sleeping in an apartment.

Jeffery is the toddler’s step-father and was suppose to be watching the child.

McGuire has been charged 1st degree wanton endangerment and the toddler is with social services.
