The situation began around 12:30 p.m. at 1077 Pennebaker Drive.  Lexington Police said it started as a domestic disturbance. They said a woman inside the home asked a man to leave. Police said he refused, and that is when they were called to the scene.

Police said when they arrived, the woman and a child in the home were released.

Police said the man has barricaded himself inside the home.

At least 15 police officers, the Emergency Response Unit, and negotiators are on scene.

ABC36 has a crew there, and will pass along more details as they become available.
