According to police, James A. Caldwell has mental health issues and has made threats against himself and other people.
Police consider him a danger to himself and said he could e aggressive toward others.
They said he was last seen on Eureka Springs Drive in Lexington around five a.m. on Tuesday, that's when family members reported him missing.
Police say he may be in Lexington or surrounding counties.
They said police have information he has been at least an hour away from Lexington since he was reported missing.
Caldwell, 36, is five-foot-nine with brown hair.
He may be traveling in a 2013 Corolla Toyota that is charcoal gray with a “Friends of Coal” license plate #8563FA.
Anyone who sees Caldwell should not approach him; instead, call local police immediately.
Police say that Caldwell was seen at Dairy Queen on Tuesday a few hours after his disappearance.
On Friday morning they received a call that he had been spotted in the Athens Boonsboro are off of I-75. They went out to that location and was not able to location him.
