Investigators say a former Lexington Police Officer was driving drunk when he hit a woman.

It happened downtown Wednesday night on a path on Legacy Trail.

Police say Keith Todd had a blood alcohol level of 0.084 when he struck Penelope Bentley.

Bentley was jogging on the path with a friend when she was hit.

She was taken to the hospital and released Thursday morning.

Todd faces DUI and second degree assault charges and is being held in the Fayette County jail.

Investigators are asking witnesses who may have seen the accident to contact them.
