Lexington Police have arrested a man they are calling, "a person of interest," in the three Speedway Gas Station robberies on Saturday.

The arrest took place late Monday night at the Microtel near Winchester Road. Brian Kirk, 37, was taken into custody after an officer patrolling the area near the Microtel spotted a car matching the description of a suspect in the Speedway robberies.

Police say, they were also searching for Kirk in connection to an incident on the 1800 block of Dalton Court. According to court documents, Kirk was armed with a gun when he stole $140 and attempted to assault a woman inside the apartment.

Kirk fled the apartment, and according to police officials, an officer on patrol spotted Kirk's vehicle and called for backup.

Police tell ABC 36 that Kirk is a "Person of Interest" in the three Speedway robberies on Saturday.
According to police, in all of the robberies the suspect handed the Speedway gas station clerk a note that demanded money and telling them he had a gun. In one robbery, police say he showed the gun.

Kirk is currently charged with First-Degree Robbery for the incident on Dalton Court. Police say that they expect more charges on Tuesday.
