Police: Overnight Gas Station Robberies May Be Connected

The armed robberies of both a Circle K and a Speedway in Lexington could have been done by the same two suspects, according to police.
Lexington police are searching for two people they said could be connected to two separate gas station robberies early Friday morning.

Police said they were called to the Circle K on Buckhorn Drive just before 1 a.m.

They said two masked men both took out guns and demanded cash and cigarettes. Officers said one was of medium build and medium height, the other heavier-set and shorter.

They got away.

Then, police got the call just before 2 a.m. that the Speedway on Paris Pike was robbed.

Again, officers said it was two masked men with handguns, with a similar description, demanding cash and cigarettes.

Again, they got away.

K-9 units were used to try and find the men, but were unsuccessful.

Police said in both cases, only the teller was inside the store. No one was injured in either robbery.
