Police: No New Leads In Search For Lexington Shooters

Lexington police said there were no new leads found from watching surveillance tapes after a man was shot Monday night.
Lexington police said there are no new leads in the search for two men they say shot someone Monday night.

Police said an officer was following his normal route when he was flagged down just after 9:30 p.m. by a man who'd been shot in the chest.

They said the victim was flagged down himself by two men on Elkhorn Drive. They said the victim claimed that, when he rolled down his window, the two men shot him once in the chest.

The victim told police he didn't know why they did it.

After that, officers said he drove a short way before flagging down a cop on Winchester Road.

Police went to the area, but weren't able to find the scene where it happened.

Officers said they went to every business and hotel in the area, checking their surveillance tapes...but the video didn't turn up any new leads.

They said a witness heard a gunshot, but didn't know where it came from and didn't see anything.

The victim was taken to UK Hospital, and was in stable condition at last check.
