Police Mark Two-Year Anniversary Of Officer's Death

An SUV hit and killed Officer Bryan Durman on April 29th, 2010.
It's an anniversary for Lexington police, but not a happy one.

It was two years ago Sunday night, when Officer Bryan Durman was killed on the job. He was hit by an SUV. Eventually, Glenn Doneghy was convicted of second-degree manslaughter.

Durman was remembered Sunday night at Lexington's Fraternal Order of Police.

"Well, i think if you ask anybody about Bryan and who he was, I think anybody would tell you that he was just kind of a happy guy," Jason Rothermund of the F.O.P. told us. "Always smiling, always cracking some kind of a joke."

A fundraiser called 'Badges Versus Burgers' is planned June second to honor Officer Durman. It raises funds for a cause chosen by Durman's wife. This year, it will help the child of a Lexington police officer, with medical expenses.

Find out more at the 'Badges vs. Burgers' Facebook page.
