Lexington police arrested a man they said shined a laser light into the cockpit of a police helicopter.
They said Steven French, 50, pointed the laser at the helicopter three times Saturday.
French works as a security guard at a construction company.
According to officers, French told them he was bored and wanted to test the ranger of the laser light, which is attached to a handgun.
The helicopter was flying over Boston Road when the laser light went into the cockpit.
