The Laurel County Sheriff's Department says a man hid from them in a closet and fought with deputies before being arrested in a meth lab investigation.

Sheriff's deputies made the meth lab discovery Friday morning at the residence of Marlana Helton, 27, off Lily Road three miles south of London.

Deputies say they found Chucky Jones, 30, hiding in a closet in the residence. The sheriff's department says Jones fought with deputies before being arrested. Jones faces several charges, including a felony warrant for manufacturing methamphetamine, controlled substance endangerment to a child, and third degree assault on a police officer. The deputy hurt in the fight, detective Jason Back, had a hand injury.

Also arrested at the residence: Larry C. Helton, 34. He faces several charges, including manufacturing meth. Marlana Helton was also arrested and faces several charges that include hindering apprehension or prosecution. Sheriff's deputies say they found needles and meth concealed on her person.
