Police: Man Gropes Woman At Lexington Gas Station

Lexington Police said Chester Harris, 50, of Lexington, groped a woman in front of her young children while she was getting gas on Centre Parkway.
A woman stopped at a Lexington gas station on Tuesday to get gas and ended up getting forcibly groped in front of her young children, according to Lexington Police.

According to court documents, the woman was pumping gas at the Marathon gas station in the 1100 block of Centre Parkway while her twin 5-year-old boys were in the car.

That's when a man came over to her and lifted the front of her dress and started groping her, according to court documents.

The man threatened the woman by saying if she tried to do anything or tell anyone, he would “beat her up," according to court documents.

Chester Harris, 50, of Lexington, was arrested and charged Wednesday with 1st Degree Sexual Assault and Criminal Trespass, according to police.

Harris is wheelchair-bound, according to Fayette County Court officials.

Lexington Police said Harris had been previously banned from the gas station property.

Harris is scheduled to be in Fayette District Court to answer to the charges on Thursday.
