Police: Man Arrested For Keeping Children In Filthy Living Conditions

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office arrested a man after finding his children in living conditions they called "not safe for children."
Deputies arrested a man after they found him and his two kids in unsafe living conditions Saturday.

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office says they were called to Valley Lane after a 911 complaint that a man was threatening to kill himself and his children.

When deputies arrived, they found Ronnie L. Overbey, 40, with his two kids in what they called "living conditions not safe for children."

The sheriff's office says Overbey was impaired both mentally and physically, and determined that he was not capable of caring for his children.

Deputies arrested the man and charged him with two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.

Social Services removed the children from the home.
