Police launch "VIP" vehicle assistance program. Citizen volunteers get to go behind the wheel of a police car in an effort to help motorists. The "VIP" vehicle program will be staffed by community volunteers and will help Lexington drivers with empty gas tanks, dead batteries, and other roadside issues. Police officials say this program will relieve actual police officers from having to do motorist assistance issues and allow them to focus on emergency calls.
