Lexington Police are joining law enforcement officers from across the company to help keep roads safe this weekend.

They'll be looking for anyone breaking traffic laws, particularly those who are impaired or not wearing a seat belt.

It's part of the national "Click It or Ticket" campaign.

In order to have a safe and enjoyable holiday, the department offers the following tips:
  • Be courteous and take extra care when operating vehicles on the roadway
  • Wear your seatbelt
  • Follow all driving laws, regulations and speed limits
  • If you drink, do not drive. Call a cab, catch the bus or designate a sober driver
  • Report impaired or reckless drivers to police immediately
