Police: Knox County Man Drove Into House, Injuring Child

Barbourville Police said Steven Johnson, 38, of Knox County, drove his vehicle into a house, injuring an 11-year old boy.
Barbourville Police said an 11-year old boy was injured Friday when a man drove his vehicle into a house and then took off.

Investigators said they eventually found the driver, Steven Johnson, 38, of Knox County, at the Knox County Hospital. 

Police said Johnson was arrested and charged with Wanton Endangerment, Criminal Mischief and Leaving the Scene of an Accident/Failure to Render Aid.

Investigators said Johnson drove his vehicle through the wall of a room where the 11-year old and a 7-year old were staying. 

The 11-year old was taken to Knox County Hospital.  The extent of the child's injuries were not reported.

Police said the 7-year old was not hurt. 

Investigators said the mother, who was in the house at the time, was not injured.

Johnson was lodged in the Knox County Jail. 

The investigation continues.
