Police: K9 Stops Would-Be Burglar

A police dog stopped a man attempting to break into the Castle Jewelry in Lexington on Wednesday, according to officers.
A would-be burglar was stopped by a Lexington police dog on Wednesday, according to officers.

Police said someone spotted the man by a door at the Castle Jewelry on West New Circle Road at around 1:30 a.m. and called them.

When police got on the scene, they said the man took off running.

A K9 ran after him and bit him, according to police.

Officers were able to take him into custody.

Police said they found burglary tools at the scene and that a door of the business was damaged where the suspect tried to break in.

The suspect, identified as Joseph Sinetta, 26, was taken to the hospital to be treated for the dog bite.

He is charged with burglary and fleeing and evading.
