Police in Whitley County said a father is accused of shooting and killing his daughter's boyfriend following a dispute on Monday afternoon.

Police say Bill Cox, 55, of Corbin, shot and killed Ryan Abner, 21.

Investigators said Abner is the boyfriend of Cox's 15-year-old daughter.

Police said the two were living together at a home Cox owned on Forest Circle Drive, and are reported to have a six-month-old son together.

Police said Cox shot Abner in his car around 2:00 p.m.

Police said Cox was charged with First-Degree Murder and two counts of Wanton Endangerment because his daughter and her child were nearby at the time of the shooting.

Investigators have not said what led to the dispute between Cox and Abner.

Cox is being held at the Whitley County Jail.
