Lexington Police say charges could be filed against a driver who crashed into a utility pole and left the accident scene.

Investigators say witnesses Thursday night reported that a driver on Parkers Mill Road was swerving.

Police say the driver clipped a utility pole and ended up in a ditch between Williamsburg Road and Cross Keys.

Witnesses told officers the driver got out of the car with his dog and left the scene.

Police say they later found the man and are determining what charges he could face.
