A Knox County couple was arrested after police say a 3-year-old girl was found riding her tricycle alone along a busy road.

Police said the girl was within feet of oncoming traffic. Investigators said they called social services to help them figure out who the girl was, because she couldn't tell them where she lived or her name.

Police said they arrested the girl's father David Miller, 47, and mother Sherry Millsaps,31. Investigators said Millsaps was drunk when they found her. They both face endangerment charges.

Police said the child is now in state custody.
