Police in Berea said an emergency vehicle was responding to a collision Sunday evening when it was involved in a crash of its own.
Officers tell ABC 36 News that the truck had sirens and lights on when a car traveling in the opposite direction hit it head on. The driver then hit a fence, according to officers. They told us a plank from the fence went through the front windshield of the truck, hitting the driver.
They said he was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. The 45-year-old female driver of the other vehicle was treated before being arrested for DUI.
