Update: Police Believe State Park Fire Intentionally Set

State Police said they believe that three separate brush fires were intentionally set. Investigators said the fires started early Saturday afternoon.

Investigators said the fires early Saturday afternoon.

The 30-acre wildfire forced the evacuation of cabins on Saturday at the Pine Mountain State Resort Park in Bell County, according to the Kentucky Division of Forestry.

The Division of Forestry said fire lines established around the cabins and lodge to protect the structures and no one was hurt.

KSP Post 10 Harlan is asking the public for any information on who may have started the fires.

The Division of Forestry was fighting 41 fires in a sixteen county area of eastern and southeastern Kentucky.

The Division of Forestry cautioned against any outdoor burning.
