Pets Offer Stress Relief For Students

UK students were given the chance to take a break from studying, and spend time with animals from the Lexington Humane Society Thursday.
UK students received a well deserved chance to relax from studying for finals Thursday.

As part of the "Paws for Stress Relief" program, students could visit the Lexington Humane Society to spend time with the animals, and take their minds off of exams. The University's Health Service and the Lexington Humane Society teamed up to hold the event. They said it is a double bonus, because students were able to relax and pets received some extra playtime.

Studies have shown that having a pet around can help with an individual's health and stress level.
