A woman's pet monkey was treated for smoke inhalation following a house fire Friday morning on Raintree Drive in Richmond, according to fire officials.

Investigators said the woman, whose name was not released, has two pet monkeys and two pet dogs.

Fire officials said the woman and all her pets were at home when the fire started.

They all got out safely.

One pet monkey was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, but was okay, according to Richmond Fire Chief Buzzy Campbell.

Investigators said the fire was caused by an electrical short in a television set in one of the monkey's bedrooms.
