Kentucky State Police say a pedestrian was struck Wednesday by a vehicle along U.S. 460 in the Millard community of Pike County.

Police say a preliminary investigation shows Jason O’Quinn was traveling eastbound on U.S. 460 in a 2005 Chevrolet truck, when he lost control and struck a pedestrian, John K. Long of Millard Kentucky.

Long was transported to Pikeville Medical Center where he was pronounced dead by Pike County Deputy Coroner Zeb Hampton.

Police say alcohol is not a suspected factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.
