Paying The Price To See The Cats

Paying The Price To See The Cats

ABC 36 took a look at UK Men's Basketball ticket prices...and offered a little perspective on what fans are paying.
UK Athletics approved a ticket price increase for Men's Basketball Tuesday...which prompted ABC 36 to take a look at some comparisons.

The increase is $5 across the board...with an increase in payment to the K Fund totaling between $110 to $455 depending on the donation level.

It's almost alarming when comparing it to the NBA, where patrons pay an average $47 for a game.

It'll cost you less to see Anthony Davis play for the New Orleans Hornets next season--about $30--than it did to see him at Rupp Arena this past year.

UK's last price increase was $7 a ticket in 2010.

Solid Blue fans who paid $33 to see John Wall play must fork over $50 to see Nerlens Noel this season.

By comparison, the last SEC school to win a national championship prior to UK--the Florida Gators--ask $20 for reserved seats.

But for those who can't afford to see their Cats live, every single game will be televised...which was not the case before 2006.
