Clouds will mix with some sunshine today as a weak cold front crosses the area. We will remain dry as highs peak near 58 degrees, thanks partly so an active breeze that will shift from the southwest eventually to the northwest. Tonight, under partly cloudy skies, we'll dip down to 31 degrees. Tuesday will be very mild with highs near 60, and after a mainly dry day, scattered showers and thunderstorms will arrive from the west, late. A more widespread of strong to potentially severe thunderstorms will cross Kentucky on Wednesday as a more potent cold front sweeps through the area. Thursday will be partly sunny and dry, before another batch of active weather arrives on Friday with scattered thunderstorms. By Saturday, most of the precipitation will have exited to the east, but an isolated rain shower or snow flurry may still occur in eastern Kentucky in the morning. Chilly air will be here for the weekend, and a new disturbance may produce a light mix of rain and snow on Sunday.
