Outbound lanes of Tates Creek Road have been shut down around the Wilson-Downing Road intersection because of a serious two-vehicle accident, according to officials.

They said an inbound lane has also been impacted, and closures could last until at least 5pm.

Outbound traffic is being detoured onto Wilson-Downing or Appian Way.

We're told at least one person has been taken to UK Hospital.

A reconstruction crew has been sent to the scene to determine exactly what happened.

ABC 36 will have more on this developing story tonight at 5 and 6pm.
