Part-Time Pendleton County Coach Pleads Guilty To Sex Charge

Former Pendleton County coach Cassandra Elfers pleaded guilty to having an inappropriate relationship with a boy on the basketball team, according to prosecutors.
A former Pendleton County part-time coach, who was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 13-year old boy, could face a year in prison after accepting a plea deal, according to prosecutors.

Cassandra Elfers, a youth volleyball and basketball coach, had an inappropriate relationship with a boy on the basketball team, according to investigators.

Police said Elfers' boyfriend was the head coach of the team.

Elfers did not have sex with the boy, according to her attorney.

She pleaded guilty to one felony county of Unlawful Transaction with a Minor, according to prosecutors.

Elfers is scheduled to be sentenced September 2, 2013.
