Part of Leestown Road in Lexington was closed off to traffic Wednesday night after a water main break.

Kentucky American Water says the road was shut down between Forbes and Burke while repair crews worked to fix the break.

The company says crews believe it stems from an eight-inch water main, and it was probably caused by weather-related shifting of the ground.

Some businesses were affected.

Homes were not, and Kentucky-American did not expect a boil water advisory.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area while crews worked on repairs.
