The Senate Judicial committee could decide on an amended version by next week of a bill to crackdown on pain management clinics. It requires all pain management clinics operating in Kentucky to be owned by licensed physicians and they have to be certified in pain management. Supporters say prescription drug abuse has grown so rampant that lawmakers need to take action to curb supplies. They point out more people died in Kentucky last year from drug overdoses than in car wrecks.
