The CEO of two out-of-state pain clinics was sentenced to 18-months in prison for unlawfully distributing hundreds of thousands of prescription pills to eastern Kentuckians, according to federal prosecutors.
Stephen M. Lyon, 47, also paid a $25,000 fine in court Wednesday.
According to court records, approximately 90-percent of the patients who visited the clinics were from Pike and Floyd Counties.
In March, a jury convicted Michael Leman and the two clinics he controlled of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and money laundering.
Leman is scheduled to be sentenced August 2, 2012.
The doctors at the clinic, Randy Weiss in Philadelphia and Stanley Naramore in Cincinnati, previously pleaded guilty. Both were sentenced to four years in prison for their roles.
