Carroll County Coroner David Wilhoite said Monday that there had been a fatality in a school bus wreck in which the bus turned over with children on board.

The victim's name had not been released.

Investigators said the accident happened on Boone Road around 4:30 p.m. and that another vehicle was involved.

A spokeswoman for U.K. Hospital said one or two victims are expected to be brought to the facility in Lexington.

A spokesperson for Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville said three children, ages 3, 4 and 5, were brought to that facility with broken bones and head injuries.

Chief Nursing Officer Cis Gruebbell at Kosair said at least two of the children would be treated in the critical care unit.
