A West Liberty Police Sergeant shot and killed a suspect Wednesday during a domestic dispute call.

The 9-1-1 Director told ABC 36 News that when police arrived at the home, Jimmy Hill had two knives and refused to put them down despite repeated requests from the officers.

Police said Sergeant Scott Adkins, a 12-year veteran of the West Liberty Police Department, shot Hill who later died at a hospital.

Sergeant Adkins is now on administrative leave while the incident is investigated, which is standard procedure when an officer is involved in a shooting.
