A Nicholasville baby sitter has been arrested, and police accuse her of abusing a little girl in her care.

Police say Audrey Rodriguez, 50, is charged with second degree assault. Detectives received information from UK Hospital that the 10-month-old girl had been admitted with injuries consistent with abuse.

Police say the child was in the care of Rodriguez at the time of the alleged abuse. The little girl had to undergo surgery for her injuries, and is now back home with her parents.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have had children in Rodriguez' care at any time to contact the Nicholasville Police Department at (859) 885-9468.
