Nicholasville Police said they're looking for a hit and run driver who left a woman with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said a passerby saw a woman in the road on Edgewood Drive at Southview Drive around 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

The woman, whose name wasn't released, was rushed to U.K. Hospital.

Nicholasville Police said the vehicle may have been silver in color based on debris at the accident site.

Investigators believe the vehicle was last seen traveling west on Edgewood Drive.

Police said the road was expected to be closed for several hours while the collision was reconstructed.
