Nicholasville Police said a driver on Catnip Hill Road was killed shortly after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday in a freak accident.

Investigators said a chunk of concrete flew through the windshield of his pickup truck.

Officers said the driver, Michael Conley, 63, of Nicholasville, was on his way to work when it happened.

He was only half a mile from his destination at the time of the accident.

Police said they didn't know yet if the concrete fell off of another vehicle or if it was kicked up from the road.

They said Conley's truck did not hit any other vehicles before it came to a stop against a guardrail.

The Jessamine County Coroner said Conley died from blunt force trauma to the head.
