A Nicholasville home on Brome Drive was broken into Monday night while the family slept upstairs.

According to police, the burglar broke into the home through an open garage door. They stole several electronic devices, two wallets, and a purse.

The family didn't realize anything was stolen until they woke up the next morning.

The two wallets were recovered by Lexington police Tuesday morning on Henderson Drive in Lexington.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 859-885-9467.

"Garaging" is a trend that is picking up pace in the surrounding area. Over the last few weeks, I have spoken with several potential clients with a story that has very similar elements; an open or partially open garage door and the bad guy using that to enter the garage and usually then the home. It is happening in many neighborhoods regardless of socioeconomic class, as well as daytime and at night. In many cases the resident is at home. It is an open violation of the sanctity of your home and peace of mind. Keep all access points for you home secured(doors and windows locked). As for my part, I will offer steeply discounted CCDW license classes for any eligible victim of this crime. Go to kygunclass.com for details.
