New Veterans Center To Be Built In Madison County

American Legion Post 12, in cooperation with Madison County's Judge-Executive and the Blue Grass Army Depot, announced on Wednesday that steps have been taken to build a new Veterans Center in the county.
American Legion Post 12 announced on Wednesday that in cooperation with Madison County Judge-Executive Kent Clark and the Blue Grass Army Depot, that steps have been taken to build a new Veterans Center in Madison County.

The Center will be a permanent home for the Madison County Veterans organizations to allow better service for Veterans in the community.

Congress allowed the Depot to give ten acres of land to Madison County provided that the County agreed to use the land for a Veterans Center.

The Veterans organizations are responsible for building the facility.

The Center will be home to the following organizations:
  • American Legion Post 12
  • American Legion Riders
  • American Legion 40 & 8
  • American Legion Auxiliary
  • Sons of the American Legion
  • Disabled American Veterans
  • Marine Corp League
  • Veterans of Foreign Wars
Officials with American Legion Post 12 said in a news release that more information would be provided as the plans progress.
