Firefighters never know what they're going to face.

Now Lexington Firefighters have new tools to deal with natural gas.

Columbia Gas is giving the Lexington Fire Department equipment that will allow firefighters to simulate emergencies involving natural gas, like dealing with broken pipes and handling flammable materials.

Chief Keith Jackson says, "This collaborative effort with Columbia Gas will go a long way with creating the great American city that we want, and the utilization of this training prop will go a long way with the Lexington fire department, Columbia gas, and all those other entities that be training here."

Stanley Pipeline installed the equipment outside the Fire Training Academy on Old Frankfort Pike.
