Pulaski County has a new coroner.

The change comes after the former coroner Richard New stepped down from office Wednesday.

New plead guilty to theft charges and admitted he stole $60,000 from Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Godbey will serve the remainder of New's term which ends on December 31, 2014.
