New Fayette County Schools Policy Protects For Sexual Orientation

The Fayette County Board of Education has added language that protects teachers, staff and students from discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.
The Fayette County Board of Education has added language to its policy that protects faculty, staff and students from discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

The new policy is effective immediately.

Fayette County Schools already prohibited harassment or discrimination based on race, creed, color or religion.

The action was taken at Monday night's board meeting.
