It's almost time to go back to school.

Thousands of kids across Lexington got backpacks full of supplies today from organizations throughout the state at the eighth annual back-to-school rally.

Each neighborhood came together at a nearby park providing their own volunteers, food, and entertainment in order to better reach the goal of the event which was to get students ready for school.

Kits for Kids, a nonprofit organization out of Chicago provided the supplies, and KU provided all of the backpacks.
